History

The Calumite Company was established by RW Hopkins in the early 1940s. It has been selling Calumite Slag worldwide to the glass industry for over 65 years. Calumite Slag operating plants exist in the USA, England, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, and Spain. The Levy Group of Companies has been involved with The Calumite Company since 1980, and in 2002, formed a joint venture. In 2008, Levy purchased The Calumite Company in the USA and formed a subsidiary, Calumite Company, LLC, which operates in Porter County, Indiana.
